The Organization of the SCIs of CPLP
Since June 29, 1995, the Audit Courts of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Sao Tome and Principe, as members of the SCI Organization of CPLP, have been carrying out cooperation actions such as courses and joint studies, exchanging auditors for courses and internships and also exchanging technical publications.
The Control Institutions of CPLP have been engaged in exchange activities with positive effects on the auditing role of the Public Administration assigned to each of the seven Institutions. Because they do not have a long experience in this area so far, the five African Courts feel these effects even more strongly, and they see cooperation actions as important opportunities for ensuring institutional improvements and strengthening.
The SCI Organization of CPLP, which was officially set up through by-laws approved in 2001, is made up of a General Assembly, a Governing Board, a General Secretariat and a Center for Studies and Training. The General Secretariat operates within the Brazilian Court of Audit, while the Center for Studies and Training operates in the Supreme Control Institution of Portugal.
